What you share with Unclinq is personal, and we treat it that way. Here's the plain-English version of what we keep, why, and how you stay in control. No fine print, no surprises.
The short version
We collect only what the app needs to work. We never sell your data, and we never use the things you write in sessions for advertising. You can export or delete everything from Settings, anytime. That's the whole spirit of this page. The rest is the detail.
1. Who we are
Unclinq is a small, independent project, built and run by one person, Sharvil Khot, from Kolhapur, India. So when you write to [email protected], you're reaching a real human, not a support queue. In privacy terms, that makes Sharvil the "data controller": the person responsible for looking after your information (including under the EU/UK GDPR). Unclinq lives at unclinq.com and app.unclinq.com; our full postal address is available on request.
2. What we collect
Only what the app genuinely needs:
- Your account: your email, and your name if you'd like to share one. If you use "Continue with Google," we get your email and basic profile from Google (never your password).
- What you write: the reflections and moments you share in sessions, and the picture the app builds from them (your patterns and progress). This is the most personal part, and we handle it with care.
- How you use the app: which pages and features you open, plus basics like device type, browser, rough region, and IP address. This just helps us see what's working and what's confusing. We do not record your screen or replay what you type.
We never see or store your card details. If paid plans arrive, a trusted payment provider handles that.
3. The AI behind your sessions
Your coaching is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. To reply to you, the relevant part of your session is sent to Anthropic to process on our behalf. Under their business terms, your words are not used to train their models, and we only send what's needed to make the coaching work. We never sell what you share.
4. Why we're allowed to use it
We use your data to run the app, create your coaching and pattern reports, remember where you are, help you when you ask, and make the product better. For anyone covered by the GDPR, the legal grounds are: to give you the app you signed up for; your consent (for optional analytics and ads measurement, and any marketing email, withdrawable anytime); and our legitimate interest in keeping Unclinq safe and understanding how it's used, always weighed against your privacy.
5. Who else touches it
We keep this list short on purpose. We don't sell your data, and we never share the content of your sessions for advertising. These trusted providers only handle data on our instructions:
- Anthropic: the AI that powers your sessions (see §3).
- PostHog: simple product analytics (which pages and features get used). No screen recording.
- Meta (Facebook / Instagram): only to see whether our ads are working. It uses a scrambled version of your email and the fact that you signed up (never anything you write in sessions), and where consent is required, only after you agree.
- Railway: the hosting and database that run the app.
- Our email provider: to send your login codes and essential account emails.
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
We'd also share data if the law required it, or to protect people's safety.
6. Where your data lives
Some of our providers are based in the United States, so your data may be handled there. When it leaves Europe or the UK, we use recognised legal safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) to keep it protected.
7. How long we keep it
For as long as your account is around. Delete your account and we delete your content, bar short technical backups and anything the law says we must keep. You can do this yourself, anytime, from Settings.
8. You're in control
Wherever you live, email [email protected] and we'll help you: get a copy of your data (or export it yourself in Settings), fix anything that's wrong, delete your account and content, pause certain uses, or withdraw consent for analytics or marketing.
If you're in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. In California, you have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of any "sale"/"sharing" under the CCPA/CPRA, and we won't treat you any differently for using any of these rights.
9. Keeping it safe
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and build with it in mind.
10. Not for children
Unclinq is for adults, and isn't meant for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you think a minor has signed up, tell us and we'll remove it.
11. Not medical care
Unclinq is a self-guided tool: not therapy, not a medical device, not a crisis service. Anything health-related you mention is used only to run the tool you asked for, never to diagnose or treat. If you're in crisis, please reach your local emergency services or a crisis line. A real person will always beat an app.
12. If this changes
As Unclinq grows, we may update this page. If anything meaningful changes, we'll update the date above and, where it matters, let you know in the app.
